Project Description

Spring Rain

Nothing survives without water.

This spring (November 2019) Australia has experienced one of the worst droughts in recent history; this has led to a catastrophic bush fire season. What we wouldn’t give for a little bit of spring rain to turn the red earth, green again.

Cloisonné enamel necklace on sterling silver chain.

Enameling is a very labour intensive process. The transparent enamels in this necklace were applied and fired between 20-30 times. Building up colours slowly and carefully is what makes cloisonné enamel jewellery shimmer.

I have included an image of the unset enamel.

For a more detailed description of the process please refer to the Techniques section at the bottom of the home page.
